R.A.C.E - Racial Awareness and Cultural Equity
Racial Awareness & Cultural Equity R.A.C.E. Chamber Town Hall
We are kicking off the series with Chevara Orrin, an award-winning diversity, equity, and social justice activist. The legacy of her parents has deeply inspired Chevara. Her mother, a white Jewish woman, served as the lead coordinator for the 1967 March on the Pentagon in opposition to the Vietnam War, and her father was a top lieutenant for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ms. Orrin is working on racial equity solutions with Fortune 500 companies such as Facebook, United Health, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, and Kaiser Permanente.
The first half of the meeting will be led by Ms. Orrin, who will lead an interactive discussion about the history of systematic racism. We will then break out into small groups where community moderators will discuss how we can close the opportunity gap and create more inclusive cultures in the workplace.
